Members of civil society planned a large action inside of COP21 today. Over 100 representatives from across civil society with spokespeople referring to the key issues left to fight for at COP21 and the movement for climate justice that will continue after Paris.

Activists gathered at the COP21 Eiffel Tower at 3:00pm today to form a giant red line down the Champs Elysee corridor in the center of the UN climate summit. Activists formed the line with over 40 meters of red fabric.

In the climate negotiations, a “red line” is an issue that cannot be compromised on. Civil society is drawing its own red lines: 0 Emissions, Equity, Finance, Justice, and Compliance. On Saturday, December 12th, the red lines will be taken into the streets for a major gathering with thousands of people along the Avenue de la Grande Armée near the Arc de Triomphe.
The group of partner organizations supporting the D12 mobilization just made a big action on saturday 12, 2015 at the heart of the city of Paris, where the clock is ticking down on a global climate deal

The Red Lines action that had thousands of activists, was intended to launch a new wave of what some activists call “climate disobedience,” civil disobedience actions that challenge the fossil fuel industry, often at major infrastructure projects like coal mines or pipelines.

Not about judging the text, it is about planetary red lines and taking the fight forward with regards to the fossil industry that thrives despite major climate calls.
The young activists from all over the world unified in elastic loops to visualize the important process of how trees absorb co2 from dirty fossil fuels and how they generate clean oxygen, that we all need for living.
• Various African and the small islands civil society groups made an action this afternoon at the UN climate talks, in Paris to demand for a binding agreement that will see the temperatures reduce by 1.5 degrees celsius.

In April 2015, African ministers called for a strong Paris Agreement that will also highlight the climate finance strategy.

With more than 150 countries set to approve a new climate change agreement under the UN in Paris, the civil society stressed the region’s readiness and requirement for accelerated financing of low-carbon development.

Africa, with its vulnerable populations and vast potential, has perhaps the most to lose from climate change and the most to gain from an effective climate change agreement.
• UN Sec Gen, Ban Ki-moon delivered a joint press conference with UNFCCC Executive Secretary, Christiana Figueres and the Cop 21 President, Mr. Laurent Fabius at the UN climate talks in Paris.

Talks on a universal climate deal shifted to a higher gear on Monday 07, Dec, 2015 with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urging governments to set off an "energy revolution" to rein in carbon emissions and avert disastrous global warming. Ban Ki-moon further mentioned "We do not have planet B, so we need to keep the planet safe and clean."

His brief was supported by Christiana Figueres who noted that governments need to come to a final agreement and save the planet.

Moreover, Cop 21 President Laurent Fabius stated that the draft presented to him represents progress. "But I think everyone will acknowledge that we need to go deeper and we need to firm things up before Friday. We’re not just talking about the environment, or the climate, we’re talking about life,” said Laurent Fabius.

Greenpeace staged an action this afternoon at the UN climate talks in Paris to stress the need to involve indigenous people in climate talks so as to reach a deal that is sustainable for humanity.

In the midst was Chief Bill Erastus who said "We are not in these talks. We aren't in the room. Why? Yet we protect the land and the water."

From the arctic to the pacific south, COP 21 must protect everyone; people and animals.

Students from The US made an Action this afternoon at the Green Climate Zone to pressure the negotiators to address the need of environmental justice to the low income and communities of colour in the US. The die in session at the Green generation zone was turned out positive with all the activists lying on the floor.

Low income and communities of colour are hit hard by toxic waste from industries and climate change yet the government has shown less interest in addressing the situation.

They cannot breathe because chemicals and other toxic wastes are allowed to contaminate the air. Sierra student put out an open question to the negotiators "Do you know what its like to be scared to go outside because you cannot breath"
• Thousands of people gathered at a peaceful protest for the climate on Boulevard Voltaire in Paris, France. The people held hands and linked arms on the sidewalk of the boulevard and displayed banners in support of the climate movement. At the start of the human chain, a collection of shoes were placed in the square of Place de la République. The many shoes were there to symbolize all the people that would have marched in the streets had the protest not been canceled by the French government.
