• Capitol Climate Action
A symbol of the strangle-hold that fossil fuels have on our economy, protestors march in front of the Capitol Coal Plant in Washington DC. The protestors were calling for clean renewable energy. Two days before the planned protest, the US government announced that the plant would be converted to Natural Gas. Organizers cited this news as a partial, but incomplete victory - as Natural Gas is still a fossil fuel - and vowed to take on coal plants across the country.

 • Kibera, Nairobi - On Nov 22nd 2012: A group of the Adventure pride Centre pupils demonstrate the process of making the water bottle bulb. One of these "do-it-yourself" lights takes maybe an hour to install. Cutting an appropriate hole, inserting a bleached-water-filled bottle, and resealing around the resulting gap. Even where clean water is rare, a little can generally be spared for almost a decade of lighting. In addition, bleach is added to the water to avoid contamination of the water thus making it last and shine longer.
• Demonstrators march in solidarity with La Via Campesina, the "International Peasant Movement", against REDD+. The new policy of "Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation" purports to assist in monitoring the carbon emissions of agrarian enterprises but the Campesina movement describes the policy as aiding the privatization of agricultural land and encourages the establishment of large, monocultural plantations.
