Soap making is the other skill that women from Gomba district are learning using locally available materials like avocados, cooking oil and herbs that act as bacterial wash and mosquito repellent. This has greatly improved hygiene for their households and for the schools by encouraging hand-washing. The spread of diseases is reduced especially among the children. Even better is the fact that all the women who come for training are able to make soap and sell it for income generation.
