  • On November 5th, 38 people from all over Canada came to Ottawa to give the new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, a #ClimateWelcome. Today, youth, parents, grandparents and leaders from the climate justice movement brought the Prime Minister “gifts”: scientific studies, Indigenous treaties, and economic reports all confirming that tar sands needs to stay in the ground. In the end, these gifts were received by the assistant to the Prime Minister -- but the #ClimateWelcome sit ins will resume again tomorrow with twice as many participants and more gifts.
